Pattern pitch is checked across the panel
Measured at both ends, because a pattern that drifts looks bent over 3 m.
If skippedThe panel measures correct and still reads as leaning, because the last aperture is 3 mm out.
The most visible element per square metre and the least structurally demanding, which is why it attracts the most design and the least engineering.
Grades quoted are 304 and 316L; other grades are sourced to order and named in the quote. Cut and finished in our own factory in Foshan.
A decorative screen is a pattern in sheet, and the pattern has to survive three things: being seen from both sides, being touched, and being in a room with air moving through it.
Screens are usually the most visible element per square metre and the least structurally demanding, which is why they attract the most design ambition and the least engineering attention.
| Property | Figure | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Thickness | 1.0–3.0 mm | Thin sheet needs a frame or it oil-cans |
| Aperture tolerance | ±1 mm | Across the whole panel, not just at the first hole |
| Open area | Typical 30–60% | Below 30% it reads as a wall; above 60% it needs a frame |
| Both faces | Equal | A screen is seen from both sides in almost every layout |
| Vibration | Designed out | Long unsupported spans need tensioning or a mid-rail |
| Fire | Non-combustible | Steel is; the frame and fixings still need checking |

If skippedThe panel measures correct and still reads as leaning, because the last aperture is 3 mm out.
Anything over 2.5 m unsupported is designed with restraint.
If skippedThe screen hums in a draught and moves when a door closes, and it cannot be fixed after installation.
The fixing and frame are designed so the back is presentable.
If skippedThe front is beautiful and the back is a frame with visible screws, in a room where both sides are seen.

Grade and finish are a specification. Whether two panels meet cleanly, in one colour, with no cutting on site, is the job.
