Wall and column

The largest share of what we make, and the element where the surface behind the metal — not the metal — determines whether it looks right.

Grades quoted are 304 and 316L; other grades are sourced to order and named in the quote. Cut and finished in our own factory in Foshan.

The most common element

Wall and column cladding is the largest share of what we make, and the element where the wall behind the metal decides the result.

Two shapes: flat cladding on a wall, and casings around columns. Flat cladding is a flatness problem. Column casings are a measurement problem, because no two columns are the same size.

Column casings

Two or four segments, formed, seam set at a recessed reveal, fixed without visible screws. If the building has fourteen columns, we draw fourteen casings, because the tolerance on a structural column is not the tolerance on a cladding seam.

Flat cladding

Panels on a concealed frame with a constant shadow gap. The frame is part of the design, not a detail for the installer to resolve.

What decides the wall

The wall is measured before cutting

Real dimensions are taken and the shop drawing re-issued against them.

If skippedA wall 20 mm out of plumb turns a designed 5 mm gap into a 25 mm trench nobody planned.

Each column is drawn separately

Four measurements per column, one drawing per column.

If skippedOne common casing, packed out differently on site, with a different shadow line at every column.

The run is assembled, not just the panels

Curved work is joined and measured as one run on the floor.

If skippedSegments within tolerance still make a run that is out at the end, because errors accumulate.

we will talk about the joints.

Grade and finish are a specification. Whether two panels meet cleanly, in one colour, with no cutting on site, is the job.
